A few things worth noting in Renton area restaurants

Things you should know about:

The Red House, at 410 Burnett Ave S, Renton is hosting a Fall Harvest Festival benefitting the Renton History Museum, on Sunday, October 4th, from 12:00 to 6:00. Twenty five dollars gets you a buffet and dessert selection, cheese and wine tasting,  and live music. A worthy cause(Renton History Museum is an awesome place), and The Red House is always a pleasure to dine in. Arguably the best food in Renton, it's a restaurant in an old coal miner's rooming house. They know how to consistently make delicious food, and service is always friendly and competent.

Odin Brewing, 402 Baker Blvd, Tukwila, is celebrating the first anniversary of their tasting room/pub in Tukwila this upcoming Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th. They will be featuring smoked wild boar and turkey legs for the celebration, and litres of their fabulous beer. Get in touch with your inner Viking.

Kazi Grill, at 111 Airport Way S. in Renton, has a great 8.99 lunch special, with a large selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian Bangladeshi and Indian choices, which are served with salad and rice. They'll make it as hot or as mild as you like, but if you favor spicy, Kazi Grill's "medium" is hotter than most places. The food's really good, very fresh tasting.

Ma Prang, at 529 Park Ave N, Renton, has pleasant atmosphere(good Jazz music via Pandora), good food, and low prices. It's a Thai place. There's a tiny parking lot in the back.

Jude's Old Town, 9252 57th Ave S.(Rainier Beach, Seattle) is now serving brunch on weekends. I haven't been there for brunch, but when I have been there the food's always good, the service is terrific, and the beer is well selected. They also serve cocktails, and have a large selection of made in Washington hard liquor.

Shuga Jazz Bistro, 317 Main Ave S, Renton, has one of the best happy hours around. While there is a bit of a discount on beer and wine, it's the happy hour food that shines. Southern/Soul food. The chef is Wayne Johnson, who was formerly the Executive Chef at Andaluca, and Ray's Boathouse, and was a contestant on Iron Chef America. Among other things, the happy hour menu includes chicken wings, and an in house made black bean burger. You can also get a side order of grilled vegetables there, which includes collard greens, peppers, and squash.  Tuesday-Saturday, 4-6(or is it 7?)

Burger Addict, 2435 Maple Valley Hwy, Renton, has expanded their menu, and now gives diners the choice of a five, ten, or twelve ounce burger. They too have an in house made veggie burger, theirs  made with Faro and black beans. For meat eaters, their burgers are ground in house, never frozen. The fries are exceptional, and they have gelato milkshakes.
